Roland DG has announced that its Roland DG TY-300 direct-to-film printer has earned a BLI 2026 Pick Award from Keypoint Intelligence, a global independent research organisation renowned for its rigorous testing and evaluation of print and imaging technology. After undergoing comprehensive assessment across image quality, colour performance, durability, productivity and usability, the TY-300 was recognised with the accolade of “Outstanding Direct-to-Film Printer” in the 1 and 2 printhead (60-80 cm) category among currently tested products from manufacturers around the world.
Keypoint Intelligence’s detailed analysis highlighted the TY-300’s superior colour accuracy, noting that it achieved the lowest average DeltaE variance across its challenging suite of spot colours on white T-shirts, with only one colour exceeding Delta E00 6.0. On black garments, the enhanced white ink laydown in high-quality mode delivered significant improvement in lighter tones, contributing to more accurate reproduction of difficult brand colours. The printer also performed strongly in productivity tests, achieving 117.33sq ft/hr in Roland DG’s recommended production mode, while a faster 4-pass mode delivered output exceeding 188.11 sq ft/hr.
