Bata has plans to open 100 stores, tending to continue to keep this pace in future. The company has added about 70 stores a year. The company is also looking to open 500 franchise stores for a period of five years. The footwear company had opened 71 new Bata retail and 51 franchise stores and renovated 47 across India in 2018-19. It had also relocated 14 stores and closed 28 during the period. Bata India is taking franchise or wholesaler route for expanding its footprint in smaller cities, towns and rural areas. Bata’s store expansion plan is a new business opportunity for the signage companies whose activities involve in in-store branding and graphic projects.
