Amazon has set plan to open more than 100 kiosks in malls across India to sell its devices such as the Kindle ebook reader, Echo speaker and Fire TV dongle. The project will be finished by the end of this year. This new move of Amazon will be a precursor to a broader entry into brick-and-mortar stores in India. The company first experimented with such kiosks two years ago in Bengaluru and has been operating four of them — two in the Karnataka capital and one each in Mumbai and Ahmedabad — for more than a year and latest being fifth kiosk in Logix Mall in Noida. Signage players having involved in in-store signage and branding projects must tap this new business opportunity Amazon has brought for them.
