German camera maker Leica forays into India, plans to open five stores

German high-end cameras and optics brand ‘Leica,’ has announced its foray into the Indian market with the launch of their first partner store in New Delhi. The company says it will open five Leica stores in the next five years across major metros of the company. The Leica camera range starts from Rs 25,000 and goes up till Rs 50 lacs. The company will sell cameras and binoculars in the country. Each Leica store will cost around 1.5 cr-3 cr depending on the location of the outlet. Arrival of high-end MNC brand in the Indian retail domain is an added business opportunity for the signage companies dealing in in-shop designs, branding and such projects.
