Fun Cinema aims for 400 screens by 2017

Set to be unveiled in Tier I & II cities, Essel-owned Fun Cinema is planning to open 400 screens by 2017. Fun Cinemas has been acquired by Cinepolis, the third largest multiplex operator in the country. The company has earmarked Rs.500 crore for expansions and acquisitions. Cinepolis, which started operations in 2009 from Amritsar, has 215 operational screens. With the opening of 400 screens by 2017, the company plans to invest anywhere in the neighborhood further. Such new boost in the segment will bring in fresh business opportunity for the signage companies engaging in in-shop displays, designs, branding and related jobs.
