ASICS, Japanese sports shoes and apparel company, has opened its first partnered mono brand store in New Delhi and now planning to expand the store count to 8-10 cities in the coming months across India. ASICS decided to go solo after its distribution partnership with Reliance Retail ended in March this year. It decided to launch its own sales operations after getting approval from the government to enter single brand retail segment. The store has been launched at Select City Walk at South Delhi and will showcase the company’s entire athletic footwear and apparel range. Signage companies, particularly those engaged in in-shop branding and displays, may get fresh projects with the opening of such stores of MNCs.
